Straight out of high school, George Berry joined the Army at 18. He chose the Transportation Branch because of his admiration for the field. George reached the rank of Sargent and after a tour to the combat zone in the middle east, and serving as a recruiter in his hometown of Lancaster, California; George decided to hang up his uniform after 8 years of a decorated career.
George took up at tractor trailer course at TNCC’s Shippers Choice. After graduation, George landed a job as a company driver hauling containerized freight from the local ports to various customers in the region. After learning the ropes, George leased his first Big Rig in 2006 and established BERRY-GOOD TRUCKING CO LLC. After seeing many challenges, the port drivers were facing, George founded a drivers’ advocacy group named For Truckers by Truckers in 2014. Now George is the proud owner of a trucking agency, in Chesapeake, that leases on other Truck drivers named FTBT TRANSPORT LLC.,. His office staffs 2 dispatchers and has fewer than 10 truckers leased on.
George also gives back to his community by volunteering his time as one of four Election Specialist in the city of Chesapeake. The highest position as a poll worker.
